Another way to be healthy is to develop a more healthy view of food. So often it is looked at as bad or shameful or disgusting or an indulgence, but if we can shift the perspective to appreciate it for what it is in the moment, we can change our relationship with it. For example, many people who emotionally eat will eat very quickly. Mindful eating suggests you chew slowly, really enjoy the bite, and be thoughtful while eating. Think of where the food came from and all that went into getting it to you and how you are grateful for this moment. This can really slow down the eating process, help you to enjoy your meals more, and helps to manage your food intake in a healthy way by allowing your stomach time to realize it is full.
